MINNESOTA'S ONLY REGIONAL IN 2026
2026 is a big year for bridge in Minnesota.  The 2026 Summer NABC will be held in Minneapolis from July 9th to the 19th.  Generally, when a city hosts the NABC, they cancel their normal yearly regional tournament - and that is the case with the Minnesota Gopher in 2026.  It's on hiatus for one year (returning in May of 2027).

But you'll still have an opportunity for regional tournament play in Minnesota in 2026, as the Med City Regional will be back during September.  The dates for 2026 are September 14th through the 19th, with the same schedule as we had in 2025.  Minnesota players are fortunate to have both the NABC -and- an opportunity to pick up some gold points in Open Regional competition!

 The Med City Regional in Rochester this year features team games and pair games every day of the tournament.  We're back at the Empire Event Center, where the host hotel is 20 feet from the playing area - and everything is on one floor.  There's tons of free and convenient parking, dozens of nearby restaurants, and prizes for the winners every day.  Directions to the Empire Event Center can be found by clicking here.

They do provide a special hotel rate at the Best Western Mayo Clinic Hotel available for bridge players, however we've found you can actually get a cheaper rate if you stay four or more nights throught their "extended stay" rate.  The Best Western site for reservations can be found by clicking here, or you can call them at 507-289-8866 and remember to ask for "MedCity" rate code.
   
   
For new, advancing, and intermediate players, don't forget the Gold Rush pairs, held every day of the tournament.  This two-session event provides Gold points and is limited to players with less than 750 masterpoints.  (As with any of the pairs events, you can play in just one of the two for the day if you would like!)
